Saving energy saves you money – we make sure you get the most from your systems.

According to a recent survey by the British Compressed Air Society:
More than 50% of companies had taken no action over the previous 2 years to improve efficiency - not even a leak maintenance programme (leakage is the largest single source of wasted energy in a typical compressed air system).

The best scenario is for us to be involved right from the word go in the design and installation of the system to ensure you end up with the most appropriate equipment and system layout. However, we also have a lot of experience in reducing energy costs by finding energy saving measures for existing systems. Typically we would perform an energy audit to identify any inefficiencies or where new product innovations could provide savings and then suggest various actions to take.

5 Simple Tips to Save Energy

  1. Turn it off! If a piece of equipment is not in use then turn off the air supply to it.
  2. Be aware. Ensure your workforce is aware of the cost of compressed air so they do not waste it (e.g. using it to clean a floor that could be brushed)
  3. Reduce the pressure. If your equipment can handle a lower pressure, a one bar drop in pressure is likely to reduce your energy bill by up to 10%
  4. Regular Maintenance. Equipment that is regularly serviced will operate more efficiently.
  5. Measure how much energy you are using. Unless you know how much you are paying, you won't know what impact the changes make.

There many ways to save energy but four of the most common and effective are

Leak Reduction Programme this typically reduces air consumption by 35%, providing an ROI of a few months.

Variable Speed Drives these will allow the compressed air generated to match the system requirements

Energy Management System if you have more than one compressor in your system but no energy management system it may be that they are not working as effectively together as they could be.

Heat Recovery in a compressor around 80% of energy is converted to heat energy, most of which can be recovered to heat water or a space.
