Race for Life 2007

11 Jul 2007

Race for LifeOn 11th July 2007 Linda Glading, Stacey Zablocki, Shelagh Goddard & Nicola Mann from the Airchannel Ipswich branch took part in this years Cancer Research UK ‘Race for Life’ at the Trinity Park Showground Ipswich.
The ladies who had taken part in the previous 2006 Race for Life decided to take it upon themselves to make this an annual event within the region.

How they completed the course was totally optional however Linda and Nicola decided that they would get fit and run it, which they both did and completed in under 30 minutes squashing lasts years time of 45 minutes (probably due to the fact they actually trained this year!!)
Stacey chose the run, jog & walk option due to being young & fit and not needing any training beforehand came in at a respectable 36minutes
Shelagh unfortunately due to illness was only just given the all clear to participate a week before the event had to walk but did an exceptional job of completing in just under 50 minutes.

Airchannel kindly agreed to double any sponsorship that the ladies raised within the company so the girls set to work to raise as much as they could for this very worthwhile charity.
Due to all of Airchannel employees being so generous we managed to raise a fantastic £386.00 throughout the company and then with Airchannel doubling it, the total raised to £772.00.

The ladies were delighted with this amount and with their own individual sponsorship totalled the amount to over £1000.00.

The ladies at Ipswich branch would like to take this opportunity to say a big "Thank-you" to all those who sponsored them and to watch out for the 2008 event!!
